Substitute Teacher
Currently, we have substitute teacher roles for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year based on growing enrollment trends.
Position Summary:
The Teacher is responsible for instructing the students in the appropriate subjects. Minister to students through being a Christian Role Model in word and deed in the classroom. You don't have to be a teacher or have any special training, just your love for kids..
Qualifications:
Devout Christian through beliefs and action
Some college preferred
Working knowledge of the subject matter assigned, classroom management, best practices, and strategies, as well as the understanding of diverse student learning styles and needs is required
Experience in instructing students in a classroom setting is preferred
Strong interpersonal, organizational, facilitation, and management skills are required
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule
Create and maintain classroom curriculum, lesson plans, and learning activities
Prepare, administer, and grade student assignments and assessments in order to evaluate student academic progress
Communicate student’s progress and needs with parents/guardians and other school staff as needed
Supervise the behavior and well-being of students and administer discipline when appropriate
Maintain an excellent working knowledge of all policies, procedures, and handbooks of ACS.
Maintain professional and effective relationships with all ACS staff, board members, and families
Effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff
Part Time After School
Qualifications:
A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Two years of child development or working with children in a classroom environment experience is highly recommended..
Must have planning skills, be organized and detail oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and able to adapt to changing environments and priorities. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work productively. Strong interpersonal, organizational, networking, and collaboration are required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate with the teacher to meet classroom needs.
Reinforce classroom curriculum and/or activities with students.
Collaborate with classroom teachers in supervising classroom behavior.
Work with individual students or small groups as necessary.
Supervise and monitor students in various school settings - classroom, field trips, lunch period, bathroom use, and recess.
Maintain an excellent working knowledge of all policies, procedures and handbooks of ACS.
Maintain professional and effective relationships with all ACS staff, board members, and families.
Effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff
